THE WISDOM FROM WORSHIPS
1. PRAYER
Recite, [O Muḥammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
— Saheeh International
As already mentioned in the Holy Book, Prayer can prevent people from Fahsya (immorality) and Munkar (wrongdoing)
The difference between Fahsya wal Munkar :
- Immorality - it is related to ourselves, our body such as drinking alcohol, committing adultery, gambling, and consumed bad deeds.
- Wrongdoing - it is related to the inner and nature of someone like shirk, wickedness, and deeds denied by the nature of pure intellect.
As a result, the best prayer what we have known as khusyu' (present the heart in prayer) encourage people to act morally and not to commit wrongdoing. But how can people who performing their prayer but still commit wrongdoing and act immorally? It is maybe their prayer was not complete. Therefore, there are 3 conditions that the prayer can actually prevent us from doing so.
- Sincere in worshipping oneness Allah SWT
- Fear followed by glorification of Allah SWT
- Always remember of Him
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -
— Saheeh International
As we can see from the verse, the last few words in that verse are the hope of becoming a person with taqwa. There are plenty of benefits from the fasting activity such as draw closer to Allah, improve oneself, stay away from forbidden things, increase in worshipping Him, and so on. Meanwhile, there one thing that would be emphasized here is Taqwa.
Taqwa definition; in general, Taqwa is the fear of God by carrying all His commands and avoiding all His prohibitions. In other words, Taqwa is practice obedience to god with propositions and arguments, expect forgiveness from Him and forsake all forms of sin.
3. GIVING ALMS
Take, [O Muḥammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them to increase,
— Saheeh International
Giving alms can purify people's souls and also their property. Seeing that, alms also prevent people from excess in every aspect nor food, clothing and so on. Therefore, it should nourish our hearts with good deeds and morals. On the other hand, Zakah or alms is one of the ways to enlarge and enhance people assets.
4. PILGRIMAGE
Ḥajj is [during] well-known months,1 so whoever has made ḥajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of iḥrām], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during ḥajj. And whatever good you do - Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.
— Saheeh International
Every person who went on pilgrimage must want to get a Haji Mabrur which is the best pilgrimage. Therefore, there are several conditions and procedures that must be followed by them. They should avoid:-
- Rafa's - is the speeches or words related to women, orgasm, intercourse, and others.
- Fasik - is committing acts of sin and immorality.
- Argue - is arguing that has no basis.
