Preparation for Prayer with Khusyu' and the virtues

Whats are the preparations that Muslims need to get khusyu' in Salah:-

O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janābah,1 then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women2 and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

1. Taharah ( wudu' and tayammum)

This verse explained about six obligatory acts related to the organ of ablution. It starts with washing the whole face, then washing the forearms including the elbows, then wiping over the whole head, then washing the feet including the ankles, then sequence, and lastly succession.

For Tayammum, there have several conditions that Muslims must follow according to it. The first one is intention. Secondly, lack of water or the impossibility to use it despite its presence. Thirdly, not having thick material like wax, oil paint, nail polish that cover the skin on the face, hands, and arms. Fourth is not having a state that invalidates wudu while making tayammum. Then, the soil to be used for tayammum must be clean. Tayammum is made by touching the soil firmly with the hands twice. After the first touch, the face is wiped and after the second one, the arms are wiped. The organs have to be wiped by the whole hand or at least three fingers in the tayammum. The last one, the entire face and arms have to be wiped until it's covering them.

And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

  1. Al-Ta'ah ( Submission/Loyalty)
  2. Al-Jihad (Struggle in the past of Allah)
  3. Muhasabah ( Reflection) - by worshipping Allah, we can leave all duniawi things and do election what we have done along the day. Are we always remember God or are we doing something wrong and forbidden by Allah. From that, we can go back to nature.
  4. Iffah (Modesty)
  5. Tawaddu' (Humility and humbleness) - by worshipping Allah, we become more humble and humility because we're just nothing. Everything in this world belongs to Allah including ourselves. So, who are we want to be arrogant towards Allah?
